The five-storey pagoda
Daigoji is surrounded by the deep forest, larger than 300 hectares, with many old and large trees. In the deep forest, visitors come across great trees of Shii, Aragashi, Tsukubanegashi and Yabutsubaki as well as coniferous trees like Japanese cedar, Hinoki cypress and Japanese red pine.
In addition, as many as more than 80 species of wild birds inhabit the forest. Especially in the season of fresh green, we can feel the sounds of wind, birds and water captivating our hearts.
It is almost as if the voice of Buddha has transcended 1000 years to reach our ears.
